The first Wednesday 6pm from Criterium Bicycles Hump Day ride happened on May 1st. A hardy group of cyclists showed up and bundled up and temps were right around 40 with gray skies. The rain and snow held off (mostly) and we explore the new Cottonwood Creek underpass. Summer is coming right?
SoCoVelo helped clean up a stretch of Santa Fe trail on Saturday morning, April 27th. There was lots of trash having accumulated over the winter. Now the stretch from the Popcycle bridge up to the T-gap trail intersection is a bit cleaner. Thanks to everyone who showed up.
A number of club members lead mountain bike rides from Trails End Taproom in the month of April. This was part of their weekly Trailblazer series of rides (and runs) that happen every Wednesday. More information on this standing event can be found on the Trails End Facebook page. This event is getting really popular with lots of folks out enjoying Red Rock Canyon and it's trails.
Three members attended the annual Colorado Springs Bike Swap at the SoccerHaus and sold a bunch of items on a cold, snowy April day. Lots of community bike folks were in attendance so was good to catch up with everyone. A number of other members attendance as well to buy some good deals. Proceeds went to Kids on Bikes. So in all a great day when riding outside wasn't going to happen.

"Great times were had at Pedal Station last week. We had a fantastic and all-time record turnout of 8 people. Thank you so much to everyone who came out. Thanks also to Jess from Kids on Bikes for hooking us up with warm beverages and to Will for teaching us how to handle some of the older bike components.
For me personally, it was a super fun night hanging out with cycling friends, talking about what had been going on in our respective lives during the winter months, learning how to take apart a bike or repair certain aspects of the bike, searching for appropriate bike parts to put on the bikes, gaining familiarity with the tools, and marveling over some of the 1980's or so bikes we got to play with. I learned a ton and am excited for the next event. All in all, we took apart or fixed about 10 bikes in the 2 hours we were there. I'm calling that great success and a nice contribution from SoCoVelo! The next event will be in a few months so be on the lookout for it on our event's page. It'll be guaranteed to be a good time and for a super awesome cause!"
