Gravel Spinning

The group will head south from America the Beautiful along the Sant Fe trail and turn around at Fountain Regional Park.  This stretch of the trail is often one of the least ridden but very interesting and scenic stretches of trail.  We hope to average about 12 mph on the twisty dirt.  Depending on how quickly we get to Fountain Park and how busy that park is, we might turn around at the first fishing hole or ride through the entire park.

Meet at the Alison Dunlap Statue (see included picture) at 10:00am (Google Map Location).  We will roll around 10:05am. Ride with GPS route: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/35578541

Come fully prepared with food, water and repair items as there are no services along the route.  But there are plenty of places that a car could pick you up if needed.

This route does require a larger tire with tread than most road bike tires.  If you are a skilled bike handler you could do it with 28s but for most cyclist a size 32 cyclocross tire or larger will be sufficient.
