Over the Hump Day Ride
When: 6pm for 1 to 1.5 hours
Where: Criterium Bicycles - next to the Crit-Cafe
Option 1) Ride with occasional effort with full regroup. Typical pace - 16-19mph on flats. Ride some trail connectors but mostly less busy city streets. Will typically do one or two larger climbs.
Option 2) No-drop ride on mostly trails (such as Santa Fe, Cottonwood or Sinton, etc.). Much more relaxed pace led by Jimmy on his fat bike!
Details: Join us for a group ride from Criterium Bicycles. Arrive around 5:50 to 5:59 pm to depart the shop just a little after 6 pm. The route will change each week but you can plan on 1 to 1.5 hours of riding. There will be a ride leader and typically many riders in the group who come frequently to this ride.
Parking: If you can, please consider biking to the event as there is NO parking for the group ride allowed at Criterium. The best parking location is the back of the Furniture Row Parking lot (click for map location).
Before: Criterium has restrooms and drinking fountains that you can use before the ride. But when gathering for the event we will meet on the West side of the building in the Crit-Cafe Patio to avoid blocking up the entrance (click for map location).
Non-member Waiver: Any non-member of SoCoVelo must sign a paper waiver at least once per calendar year to participate in any riding event. Waivers will be available at the bike shop to sign before each ride. OR you can sign a digital waiver at this website without creating a login and for free. Just click "register as a guest" at the bottom of the Digital Waiver Page.
Safe Group Riding: Our group practices safe riding by communicating with each other along the ride and following the rules of the road.
