Gravel Climbing
We will meet in the Elevation Wheel Company parking lot. They open at 10am and have bathrooms inside that we can use. 10:15am planned wheels down. We will ride as a group from there to the Garden of the Gods before we begin to climb up Rampart Range Road. Our goal is the metal gate overlook before coming back down the way we came. The group will naturally split up some due to the nature of that climb. But being an out and back, the group can make sure that everyone is accounted for on the way back down.
Come fully prepared with food, water and repair items as there are no services along the route. Especially for a change of a flat tire since the gravel road can be fairly bumpy in places.
This route does require a larger tire with tread than most road bike tires. If you are a skilled bike handler you could do it with a 32 cyclocross tire or larger will be sufficient.
Non-Members Welcome with a Waiver
