Cathedral Pines and Black Forest 33 Mile Road Ride

We’ll do some of my favorite roads in the Forest, with the following highlights:

• Towering trees and majestic homes of the Cathedral Pines neighborhood. 
  
• Some roads less traveled in the Black Forest, but still beautiful.
  
• Some wide open pastures, and views of Pikes Peak along Walker.
  
• The long, winding, and fun descent down Sanctuary Rim.

Ride Type: A no-drop ride, with opportunities for efforts on the climbs, and regrouping as needed. 

Start Location Details: Southeast side of the parking lot, near the outdoor boat display. Take a right off of Bass Pro Drive at Kaycee Case Place into the parking lot. 

Road Conditions to Note:

• We’ll be on Highway 83 for about a mile, but this area has a shoulder. Just watch for debris and sand.
  
• Heading up Shoup into the Black Forest, we’ll have relatively new pavement, but no shoulder to speak of, so we’ll need to ride single file.

Safe Group Riding: Our group practices safe riding by communicating with each other along the ride, and following the rules of the road. Rear lights are required.
